Primary School
Our primary school curriculum is aligned with the Botswana national standards, ensuring a solid foundation for academic success.

Lower Primary (Standards 1-4): Students engage in core subjects such as Setswana (mandatory for Batswana students), English, Mathematics, Cultural Studies, Environmental Science, and Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA).1 The curriculum focuses on building essential skills, culminating in a final assessment at Standard 4

Upper Primary (Standards 5-7): Students delve deeper into their studies as they prepare for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in Standard 7.2 The curriculum includes Setswana, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Agriculture, Religious and Moral Education (RME), and Computer Awareness (CA), with CA not assessed in the final year.
Secondary School
Our secondary school program follows the Cambridge IGCSE and O'Level curriculum, aligning with international standards and providing an equivalent to the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE). Unlike most students in Botswana, our students write their Cambridge exams at form 4 instead of form 5.

Lower Secondary (Form 1): Students embark on a broad academic journey, covering compulsory subjects such as English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Business Economics, Commerce & Accounting, Travel & Tourism, ICT, Geography, Environmental Management, and Sociology.

Upper Secondary (Form 2-4): Students have the flexibility to choose subjects based on their strengths and interests, allowing them to tailor their education to their future goals. They can select from options like English (First Language or English as a Second Language), Mathematics (Core or Extended), Sciences and Business (Biology or Accounting, Chemistry or Business Studies, Physics or Commerce), and Social Sciences and Humanities (Travel & Tourism or Environmental Management, Geography or Sociology, Economics or ICT).​
Flexibility and Support for Success
At Emerald Academy, we understand that every student learns at their own pace. We offer flexible options to ensure students have ample opportunity to succeed.

Students who require additional preparation time can continue to Form 5 before taking their exams.

They have the choice of sitting for their exams in either the May/June or October/November sessions as private candidates.

While exam registration fees are the responsibility of students in Form 4 or Form 5, averaging BWP 8,000 for eight subjects, our flexible approach provides multiple pathways to academic achievement

Our School
Emerald Academy is an innovative educational institution dedicated to providing quality, student-centered learning that supports academic, personal, and moral growth. Founded as a tuition center in 2017, Emerald Academy has grown to offer full-time homeschooling and tutoring, serving students in a flexible, home-like environment. Our curriculum spans primary and secondary levels, with classes structured to promote personalized learning, critical thinking, and the development of life skills. Guided by our mission to provide a dynamic, engaging education, we equip students with the tools they need to succeed academically and personally.

Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is carefully designed to offer a structured yet flexible path for students from primary to secondary levels. In the primary grades, we focus on foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and basic sciences, setting the stage for academic achievement. By Standard 7, students are prepared for the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE), which pave the way for secondary education. In secondary school, students follow the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, gaining a global perspective and the opportunity to specialize in subjects that match their strengths and interests. This mastery-based approach allows students to build a solid academic foundation, develop expertise in their chosen fields, and prepare for further education.
Our curriculum also extends beyond academics to include extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, and academic clubs. Through these programs, students develop critical life skills like teamwork, leadership, and creativity, enriching their school experience and fostering well-rounded development.
